Ingredients

  • 8 oz cheddar cheese shredded (about 2 cups)
  • 4 Tbsp cold butter
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/8-1/4 tsp onion powder
  • 1/8-1/4 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 cup all purpose flour
  • 2-4 Tbsp water
  • course salt for sprinkling on top

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350F.
  • In a food processor add shredded cheese, butter, salt, onion powder and garlic powder and pulse until incorporated. Mixture will be crumbly.
  • Add flour and pulse until the flour is incorporated.
  • Add 2 Tbsp of water and pulse until the mixture sticks together. Add remaining 1-2 tablespoons of water if the dough is too dry.
  • Make a ball and then press dough between two pieces of wax or parchment paper to create a disk. Flour a clean surface and roll out dough very thin - about 1/8”. The thinner the dough the crispier your crackers.
  • Cut with knife or pizza cutter into squares or your desired shapes. If you poke a hole right in the middle of your cracker they will resemble a cheeze-it!
  • Place crackers on baking sheet and sprinkle lightly with coarse salt.
  • Bake for 16-19 minutes. Crackers are done when they are a light to a medium golden brown.
  • Store in airtight container for up to a week… if they last that long!
