Fresh Turmeric Ginger Shots

A small shot with big anti-inflammatory energy - Bright, Spicy, and Powerful! These turmeric shots are bold, earthy, and unapologetically spicy—in the best way. Made with fresh turmeric and ginger, bright citrus, and a pinch of black pepper to help your body actually use all that goodness, this is one of those recipes that feels both ancient and very modern. Drink it straight, dilute it with water, or add it to smoothies when you want a little glow-from-the-inside energy (and maybe a gentle wake-up call).

Ingredients

  • 5 oz fresh turmeric not peeled
  • 3 oz fresh ginger peeled
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 lemon
  • 1 orange
  • 1/4-1/2 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  • Prep the roots
  • Roughly chop the fresh turmeric (no need to peel) and the peeled ginger. Heads up: turmeric stains like it has a personal vendetta, so gloves and an old cutting board are your friends.
  • Blend
  • Add the turmeric, ginger, lemon (peeled), orange (peeled), and 1 cup of liquid (water or fresh juice) to a high-speed blender. Blend until completely smooth—this may take a minute or two.
  • Strain (optional but recommended)
  • Pour the mixture through a fine mesh strainer or nut milk bag into a bowl or large measuring cup. Press or squeeze to extract as much liquid as possible.
  • Stir in 1/4–1/2 teaspoon black pepper. Start small—this stuff is potent, not subtle.
  • Adjust & store

Notes

Taste and dilute with additional water if needed. Transfer to a glass jar or bottle and store in the fridge for up to 5–7 days.
How to Use
• Take 1–2 oz as a daily shot
• Add to warm water in the morning
• Mix into smoothies or fresh juice
• Stir into sparkling water for a spicy mocktail moment
