Equipment

  • 1 Mason Jar

Ingredients

  • ½ cup extra virgin olive oil
  • ¼ cup white vinegar
  • 3 tablespoons water
  • 2 teaspoons lemon juice
  • 3 tablespoons grated parmesan cheese Omit to make vegan
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon dried parsley
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • Ground black pepper to taste

Instructions

Add ingredients to the jar

  • Add all ingredients to a Mason jar, starting with the vinegar, water, and lemon juice, followed by olive oil, parmesan, herbs, and black pepper.

Seal and shake

  • Secure the lid tightly and shake for 20–30 seconds until the dressing is well combined and slightly creamy.

Taste and adjust

  • Taste and adjust seasoning as needed. Add more pepper for spice, a pinch of salt if desired, or a splash of water to thin the dressing.

Let flavors meld

  • For best flavor, let the dressing sit for 10–15 minutes before using to allow the dried herbs to hydrate.

Notes

Store homemade Italian dressing in the refrigerator for up to 1 week. Shake well before each use—separation is normal.
