About Me

Hi – I’m Jenn, come veg with me! I am a vegetarian who loves to cook and a professional food photographer and stylist. I really enjoy making food and gathering with friends to share. People often say I should have my own restaurant but that lifestyle doesn’t appeal to me. So creating recipes and sharing them on this blog is really a dream come true! I get to cook and share and take photos of the food and I love every minute of it.

The Journey

I’ve been a vegetarian for 20+ years and it’s been a bit of a journey to find my own style and groove of cooking that is healthy, has all my proteins, while tasting great! I’ve lived all over the west coast; San Francisco, Santa Barbara, Los Angeles, Seattle, and now in Spokane, WA. I’m always inspired by the variety of foods I’ve had along the way, from my favorite Thai place in Santa Barbara to the Indian place we’d have lunch at in San Francisco. I love to bring flavors into my cooking and always trying new things. This blog leads me to branch out and try new recipes and create, it’s wonderful!

Good Health

Healthy food is so important in our house, but we also love the occasional treat. I’ve worked hard to find a balance with great flavors and healthy ingredients.

Adaptibility

Some of my recipes are made without a lot of spice and that’s for my sweet daughter who loves my cooking, but isn’t a big fan of spicy foods. I know there are lots of families out there making recipes for several different tastebuds in the family. You can always add more spice, or a different protein to your dishes. No one else in my family is a vegetarian, except my daughter, so often times my dad will add some chicken to the soup I make etc. Being vegetarian doesn’t mean everyone around you has to.
