This easy little trick will help you drink more water, use up citrus or juice that’s going bad, and this is a natural flavor to add to plain or sparkling water!

If you use a Sodastream at home to make your own carbonated water and don’t like the flavors they have available, this is a super easy way to cool your water and add whatever flavor you like.

We all know we are supposed to be drinking water… probably more than you already are. I personally can drink lots of water in the summer especially when I’m exercising. However in the winter months I struggle to get my daily water intake. I run pretty cold so I’d always prefer to reach for a cup of decaf coffee or anything warm

Recently I signed up for this food delivery service called Imperfect Foods and they deliver a box right to your doorstep full of awesome fruit and vegetables. Occasionally I end up with more citrus then I can use and I see it there in the fridge starting to not look so good. At that point I break out the cutting board, citrus juicer, and my mini ice cube tray.

Juice all of your citrus fruits!

Or maybe you just buy a bag a lemons because you love lemon water and want to give this a try! You’ll need to strain out the seeds and I like to strain out the pulp as well. When I’ve added the pulp to my ice cubes it tends to get stuck in the straw if I’m using one.

Pour your juice into the mini ice cube tray.

You really could use any juice that you’d like. If you have some leftover cranberry juice or orange juice those work well also.

There are lots of mini ice cube trays on Amazon. I really like these tiny ones because I don’t want a lot of flavor or acidity in my water, but I do like a little bit! I also can add more than one cube if I want to.

Just freeze and you’re ready for flavored water!

One note here is to keep in mind that acidic water can be harmful to your teeth so you don’t want to use your citrus cubes in every glass of water!
