This easy homemade Italian dressing comes together in minutes using a Mason jar and simple pantry ingredients. Fresh, flavorful, and better than store-bought.
By: Jenn Alberts
This is the Italian dressing you make once and then never want to go back to bottled premade dressing again. It’s bright, savory, a little tangy, and comes together in about a minute using a Mason jar and some enthusiastic shaking.
No fillers, no mystery ingredients, no neon coloring. Just a classic balance of oil, vinegar, herbs, and parmesan that works on salads, roasted vegetables, grain bowls, and pretty much anything that could use a flavor upgrade.
Homemade Italian Dressing (Mason Jar Method)
1- Add ingredients to the jar
Add all ingredients to a Mason jar, starting with the vinegar, water, and lemon juice, followed by olive oil, parmesan, herbs, and black pepper.
2. Seal and shake
Secure the lid tightly and shake for 20–30 seconds until the dressing is well combined and slightly creamy.
4. Let flavors meld
For best flavor, let the dressing sit for 10–15 minutes before using to allow the dried herbs to hydrate.
5. Store
Store homemade Italian dressing in the refrigerator for up to 1 week. Shake well before each use—separation is normal.
